Presentation
The French word rencontre (encounter), derived from the Old French encontre—“to collide with someone along one’s path”—surprises us and shifts our perspective. It is not merely a happy coincidence; it is the irruption of the Other into our lives, unsettling our certainties and reshaping our points of reference.
During the early years of the amateur company workshops, projects were based on works from the classical and contemporary repertoire. For the past five years, however, the troupe has created original productions developed from the group itself and its performers. The material emerges through their proposals and improvisations before being reworked, structured and rewritten into a final script.
The company brings together around twenty amateur actors from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some have been part of the adventure since its beginnings, while others have joined along the way. This continual renewal nourishes the collective dynamic and sustains the troupe’s artistic vitality.
