Some productions have that elusive magic – a soul of their own. And so we are both proud and thrilled to resurrect this theatrical gem first imagined by Dominique Catton, Christiane Suter and Gilles Lambert back in 2001.
Like a phoenix, this stage adaptation of Hergé’s iconic comic strip returns to the limelight 25 years after its debut. The story bursts onto the scene with the arrival of the indomitable diva Bianca Castafiore – and chaos follows. Heavens! My jewels! cries the soprano as her emerald is mysteriously stolen. And so begins a rollicking whodunnit that turns the peaceful Château of Moulinsart upside-down, transforming it into a full-blown theatrical battlefield.
Slip-ups, misunderstandings and comic confusions pile up as the entire cast of Tintin’s legendary characters gets swept into a riotous, closed-door caper packed with red herrings and uproarious twists.
From the comic strip to the stage, this extraordinary production, brought to life by a cast rendered almost unrecognisable, recreates the original album with breathtaking fidelity, thanks to a dazzling, playful and thoroughly theatrical staging. A blistering event, for sure!
