Stephan Eicher solo show

Imagine a man who, as he walked past our Theatre, felt the desire to come in and get to know the people who work here. In the simplest terms, a dream of a show emerged – a one-man show exploring the unique relationship between an artist and his audience, intimate and multifaceted, through a few songs and stories gleaned from the roads he’s travelled, fragments of life, with its ups and downs, without regrets or remorse, with humour and depth.

He whispered to us: « Chance, my faithful companion, led me to this theatre. The door was ajar, and the people I met offered me a place to put my luggage, my songs, the lyrics of my friends Philippe Djian and Martin Suter, my first synthesiser I bought in 1980, a dusty drum machine, a guitar I bought on my way out, in a music shop a stone’s throw from the theatre… yes, they still exist, they haven’t all disappeared like the record shops… of course there’s a story there… yes, there are stories… I’ll bring my fears, my courage, my sorrows, and my joys to this exact address: our universe, our galaxy, the Milky Way, our solar system, planet Earth, Europe, at the end of Lake Geneva over there, in Carouge – Le Théâtre…
