Presentation

Free-spirited artists constantly on the move, actress Irène Jacob and singer-songwriter Keren Ann are also close friends in life.
For several years, they have maintained a correspondence woven from music and poetry, exchanging, according to their travels and moods, the words of Charles Bukowski, Charles Baudelaire, Andrée Chedid, Paul Éluard and many others.

The idea gradually emerged to extend this conversation onto the stage while introducing a more personal dimension.

Choreographer Joëlle Bouvier, originally from Neuchâtel, joined the project, giving physical form to this story of notes and words.
She imagines a simple setting—a chair, a piano and a suspended microphone—where the two women reveal themselves without artifice, fully present. The lighting structures a series of tableaux, bringing their paths together and then apart. From the solitude of a hotel room in New York City to the warmth of a sauna in Finland, and the tranquillity of a restaurant in Poland, Keren Ann and Irène Jacob travel through the world and through themselves, exchanging news, sharing impressions, melancholy and joy. Through the luminous words of poets, and through original melodies alongside songs by kindred spirits such as Billie Holiday and Leonard Cohen, they reveal themselves with great delicacy and restraint.
