About the fund

Access to culture remains unequal even today. In 2024, with the aim of promoting access to the theatre for all audiences, we set up the MIRANDOLINA Fund, a solidarity fund that operates beyond the confines of the theatre seasons. This fund provides long-term support for MIRANDOLINA’s initiatives: original outreach activities and the development of new partnerships with organisations.

Mirandolina spring

The third edition of MIRANDOLINA Spring will take place in 2027: nine weeks of theatre workshops aimed at organisations whose participants – whether young people or older adults – will discover the experience of acting on stage. An unforgettable experience.

MIRANDOLINA is also committed to the long term through its Fund. Thanks to this solidarity fund, the Theatre can be responsive and flexible, offering a swift, tailor-made solution. The Fund provides preferential rates for organisations, invitations to explore the Theatre through fun tours or a behind-the-scenes discovery trail showcasing theatre professions, and a whole range of one-off outreach activities ready to be rolled out.

The camion-théâtre and Mirandolina

Since 2016, the Théâtre de Carouge has been touring the towns and villages of the canton during the summer season, thanks to its theatre lorry. In 2026–2027, MIRANDOLINA will once again organise a few additional shows for audiences further afield, as well as fun theatre workshops based on the plays being performed.

Mirandolina others

MIRANDOLINA offers a whole range of bespoke initiatives for the public and partner organisations, tailored to their specific requirements:

  • theatre tours
  • meetings with the artistic teams
  • workshops held directly within the organisations
  • presentations on careers in the performing arts
  • backstage tours
  • etc.

who is Mirandolina ?
©Pascal Victor

Mirandolina is the heroine of La Locandiera, a play written in 1752 by Carlo Goldoni. She is the beautiful innkeeper and the heart and soul of the establishment, who welcomes each and every one of her customers so warmly. Just like her, the Théâtre de Carouge’s MIRANDOLINA Fund forges links between the theatre and its audience.

A thursday night with mirandolina

By choosing the performance of Kiss & Cry on Thursday 10 December, you’ll be turning your evening at the theatre into an act of charity.
